It seems that there is a problem arising from the monitoring of criminal defendants who are required to wear GPS devices. Judge Perry made this announcement regarding their use:

The Ninth Judicial Circuit has utilized Global Positioning System (GPS) Technology in Criminal Cases.  However, effective immediately, Chief Judge Belvin Perry, Jr. has suspended the entry of new individuals into the GPS program for criminal cases until further notice. Those individuals who are currently on GPS and are being monitored by one of the approved vendors, Court Programs of Central Florida or Electronic Resource Associates (ERA), will continue to be monitored by those private companies.

In light of the reported events associated with the Wilfred Gregory case, a comprehensive review of these private vendors will be conducted immediately.

No further comments will be made until the review is completed.
