NOTE: I HAVE DECIDED TO REMOVE THE WELL KNOWN IMAGE OF THE TEENAGED GIRL BEING HELD BY THOSE ACCUSED OF RAPING HER:

I came across yet another term I had never heard of recently. Revenge porn. This is the practice of posting pornographic images of a person one is trying to get revenge against anywhere on the internet.

It is a form of cyberbullying that I have been a victim of for years. I have had images of me photoshopped onto various nude bodies and on a female sex organ, of all things.

What is amazing about all of this is that the people who are doing this call ME the stalker and bully, These folks need to look in the mirror.

There is a website that has been established to lobby for laws to put a stop to this. They have started a petition drive to build up support for their efforts:

http://www.endrevengeporn.com/

HUNTERMOOREThe origin for this petition is because of a website established by Hunter Moore. It allows people to post all kinds of pornographic images on it. The most common use of the website is the posting of demeaning image by someone seeking revenge against a target.

It is rather interesting that the very people who engage in this practice are also signing the petition. This is due to the Saltsman photo of the rape victim that has been circulating around the internet, the common version where the image of the under aged girl being blurred.

I would suggest that you read both the article regarding Mr Hunter as well as the article by the petition site. In these articles are some interesting facts that I have stated for years and have been mocked for doing so.

For instance:

Re•venge porn,n.- A form of cyber-rape that involves the distribution of sexually explicit photos and/or videos of an individual (either real or photoshopped) on the Internet without permission.  Revenge porn is usually posted by a scorned ex-lover or friend, in order to seek revenge after a relationship has gone sour. “

In my case, it is two bloggers that I never heard of and for no legitimate reason has engaged in this practice.

In another part of the article is this:

Note: If posted material was created before your 18th birthday, you have legal recourse. That crime is classified and can be prosecuted as child pornography. If, however, posted material was created after your 18th birthday, you have few legal options. The crime (and it IS a crime) can in some cases be classified as stalking, harassment, invasion of privacy, defamation of character but is very difficult, costly and time-consuming to prosecute.”

I know this from first hand experience. In the article specific to the fight against Mr. Hunter was this that really hit home with me:

“Marc Randazza is currently representing a client who is suing Mr. Moore on copyright grounds, after her photos appeared on Is Anyone Up and Mr. Moore declined to honor her takedown request. He’s also representing Mr. McGibney, the Bullyville founder, in adefamation case against Mr. Moore after he publicly accused Mr. McGibney of being a pedophile.”

Hmm, take down requests and being labeled a Pedophile? Sound familar?

Those who have been stalking me since 2008 as well as those who have been doing the same thing to the Caylee Warriors need to be made accountable for what they are doing. This petition is but another tool in the fight against the harassment by the cyber abusers.

STAY TUNED
