OHIO LAWYERS ARE FIGHTING OVER THE CONTENTS OF A BLOG STORED ON A SERVER SOMEWHERE ON HOST GATOR’S PROPERTY

An interesting article on a “Spoof” blog seems to give the impression that one can pull the hard drive out of whatever pc was used to access a certain blog or forum and thus avoid detection by any atty seeking discovery information.

The answer, of course, is that this little trick would not work. The reason, as most people know, is that the blog in question is on the website HOST’S hard drive which is on their SERVERS. The HOST is required by the various laws enacted under the EU and the US Patriot act to preserve this kind of data for a minimum of six months.
